Very Very Nice. I envy you, sir

First off, I liked how the guitar wasn't really the main instrument, but rather an integral part of a larger mix... too often the guitar gets the front stage when there's a lot of other cool stuff going on in a song that isn't brought out enough. I also saw how this had silent hill influence, at least just a little.
All in all, it's a very good piece.
I'm curious how long this took you? It would have taken me forever to put something like this together.
Also, how'd you record the various parts? (just curious).

TheRealSam responds:

Well it took me around 3 hours I'd say, I don't know why but when inspiration comes, it's like a constant flow to me. It's like if it was coming from a tap or something, it's comes out of nowhere, fills up my brain and stops suddenly, untill it comes again, maybe some days later. Sometimes I only have to walk a while and change my mind a bit for it to come back, sometimes it's longer. Yeah a lot for my stuff is Silent Hill inspired, or from Nobuo Uematsu's work. Thanks a lot for the review man :)

I'm not entirely sure...

...exactly WHAT to think of it. But I definitely thought the riffs you had were tight and pretty cool. Is that actually a real guitar though?
It almost sounds more like midi to me.
Nice work, dude.

Hades responds:

Nope, I still don't have enough money to buy myself a program that would allow me to actually record my guitar, so this is just a guitar VSTi used in FL Studio. And as far as those go, they pretty much sound MIDI-ish, sadly. Anyways, thanks a lot for taking the time to comment, I appreciate it!

Pretty tight

I'm not going to blow smoke and say it's my new favorite song of all time, but this was pretty cool. I would consider myself a fan of punk (alongside alternative rock, metal, progressive, and rap) so all in all it was right about on the spot for my tastes with punk.
The coolest thing about it was the cacophony of noise that gets going (especially around the chorus). If I've just jumped in, then it seems like clutter, but the second I really focus in, you guys have a lot of cool harmony going around. The energy that must be there for punk music to really work is definitely present here, so two thumbs up in the attitude department!
Lastly, I thought the lyrics were very well put together, but parts of it I would want to change if it were my song... it always takes me a little while to fall in love with new songs/bands/albums so my opinion is subject to change without notice.
Let me hear some more!

MadFLeX responds:

Thanks for the feedback and comments. I know what you mean about warming up to bands and songs. I'm the same way.. When I listen to bands the first time, I'm more deciding if I like them than if I like the song. As for this one, I'm proud we made it and people seem to enjoy it with a couple spins. But I understand completely what you're saying. Familiarity breeds favoritism for me too.;)

YES!

This is good! I like the flow and all the little flavorful elements that you add into the mix. Mostly everything about this is good stuff. Very well done, man.

sorohanro responds:

Thanx, I'm glad that you like it.
There is another mix of this one on Audio Jungle and I'll remake it after I'll get my hands on Pro Tools.

Mesermizing

I accidentally let it play through about 10 times before I realized I had listened through it.. lol

VGSongbird responds:

Lolz. Yeah this looped WAY better than I was expecting it to.

Nice!

This was pretty cool... I liked a lot it... very metallish, a lot of epic thrown in, which is a good thing in my book. I'd be interested to know what you recorded it with though... you know, like recording gear, guitar, amp/software... etc. did you use a drum machine? Were these instruments live recorded? What mixing software did you use, etc.... I NEED DETAILS! lol trying to get good quality out of my own recordings, so advice is always helpful... keep on fretting!

Dimoria responds:

You can kiss my balls and explain to me why you voted 8 first.

Well done!

I am a firm believer that music of any style and genre and with any lineup of instrumentation, if made with thought, feeling, and soul... can be touching, profound, and moving, all at the same time. And this piece does that... alone, as well as coupled with the game. In fact, it almost serves a larger purpose in the game, illustrating a theme. DL.

broove responds:

Hmm.. you have a good point there. I agree.
Seems to me that SilverStitch's works are a half (visual), which searches for the second half (sound). And he's doing a very good job by joining these halves together...

Anyway... thank you for the review ;)

Impressive in the sense that is sounds sincere

it may not be perfect, but it felt like it was for something... had a meaning.

waiting2exist responds:

you'd be right on both accounts thanks for the review
