Heh... I wonder if

you guys have different singers for the screaming/melodic vocals. I haven't looked at your myspace to see, or anything, but I would guess you do, because there is no way in hell I could rip up my vocal cords and then come back to singing cleanly... at least in any way that sounds good.
I can't decide... I think I ultimately like your band's contempt of courtship song better, but the most impressive thing about how good this is, is that it's quite different from that other song, which shows you guys really have your selves together and are exploring different styles.

MadFLeX responds:

It's just me doing the screaming and vocals, and it took a toll for sure, especially during live shows. by the last song i'd barely have anything left. thanks for giving everything a listen! i'll be putting some other songs up soon that are kinda different in style so you can hear some of that stuff too.

Good god, man!

This is AWESOME!
The rhythm was catchy, as was the melody throughout, and the spacing you had in the song fit perfectly.
I have to say that you display a very good comprehension of electronic composing.
You've got lots of instruments working together in abnormal ways, and it's working superbly.
I loved most of the themes you introduced, they were exactly what I try to put in my own music, melodic hooks that get stuck in your head for a long while. The flow of the how all the parts fits together leaves the listening with an impression of a fast, dramatic, energy filled piece that would go perfectly over some sort of action (not directly fighting, but running around doing stuff when time is of essence kind of feel). The way it slowed at some parts let up the tension from the faster parts with the higher pitched instrumentation.
This NEEDS to get some mainstream exposure on NG. I want to see this to an awesome flash or something. Dang, I didn't even realize that while I've been typing this I've heard it three times!

Hades responds:

Woah, dude... Thanks a lot for all the compliments. It really means a lot, seriously - thank you. I really appreciate the time you took to write this, as well as the comments you gave. Thanks! :D

Very Very Nice. I envy you, sir

First off, I liked how the guitar wasn't really the main instrument, but rather an integral part of a larger mix... too often the guitar gets the front stage when there's a lot of other cool stuff going on in a song that isn't brought out enough. I also saw how this had silent hill influence, at least just a little.
All in all, it's a very good piece.
I'm curious how long this took you? It would have taken me forever to put something like this together.
Also, how'd you record the various parts? (just curious).

TheRealSam responds:

Well it took me around 3 hours I'd say, I don't know why but when inspiration comes, it's like a constant flow to me. It's like if it was coming from a tap or something, it's comes out of nowhere, fills up my brain and stops suddenly, untill it comes again, maybe some days later. Sometimes I only have to walk a while and change my mind a bit for it to come back, sometimes it's longer. Yeah a lot for my stuff is Silent Hill inspired, or from Nobuo Uematsu's work. Thanks a lot for the review man :)

I'm not entirely sure...

...exactly WHAT to think of it. But I definitely thought the riffs you had were tight and pretty cool. Is that actually a real guitar though?
It almost sounds more like midi to me.
Nice work, dude.

Hades responds:

Nope, I still don't have enough money to buy myself a program that would allow me to actually record my guitar, so this is just a guitar VSTi used in FL Studio. And as far as those go, they pretty much sound MIDI-ish, sadly. Anyways, thanks a lot for taking the time to comment, I appreciate it!

Doom Metal isn't my thing

That said, the guitar instrumentation is interesting, and I liked the fact that it was about Chernobyl, which is an event that's always held a lot of mystery and intrigue for me.
It was fun to listen to.

This was a surprisingly tasty morself of pure win!

I'm not gonna lie, there are little things I could critique, being a guitarist myself, but overall, and especially applied to that recent Castle Crashers video, this is a really awesome, well done, nicely put together song. I am downloading it because I have enjoyed listening to it so much.
ANd I was also curious, what kind of gear did you use to record with? such as guitar, sound (amp, modeling?) and how you got the drums on there.
Anyways, thanks for writing this, it was awesome! And don't let people tell you otherwise, because there's always going to be four kinds of people: those who tell you it's great and leave the room, those who say it's shit and stick around to see if you cry, those who don't care, and those who are going to give an honest opinion. I hope I've been the last one in this review.

Pretty tight

I'm not going to blow smoke and say it's my new favorite song of all time, but this was pretty cool. I would consider myself a fan of punk (alongside alternative rock, metal, progressive, and rap) so all in all it was right about on the spot for my tastes with punk.
The coolest thing about it was the cacophony of noise that gets going (especially around the chorus). If I've just jumped in, then it seems like clutter, but the second I really focus in, you guys have a lot of cool harmony going around. The energy that must be there for punk music to really work is definitely present here, so two thumbs up in the attitude department!
Lastly, I thought the lyrics were very well put together, but parts of it I would want to change if it were my song... it always takes me a little while to fall in love with new songs/bands/albums so my opinion is subject to change without notice.
Let me hear some more!

MadFLeX responds:

Thanks for the feedback and comments. I know what you mean about warming up to bands and songs. I'm the same way.. When I listen to bands the first time, I'm more deciding if I like them than if I like the song. As for this one, I'm proud we made it and people seem to enjoy it with a couple spins. But I understand completely what you're saying. Familiarity breeds favoritism for me too.;)

Interesting

I Like the idea of this sort of challenge with backing tracks and submission contests. I'd never thought about someone doing that before but it sounds cool, and I did get some ideas while I was listening to the track, so maybe I'll work something up later today and record it.

I Like It

It's not something I'm going to go super crazy about and wet myself, but it's a very nice little thing to listen to, especially as background music. It obviously has had some thought put into it and it's smooth, relaxing.
Thanks!

YES!

This is good! I like the flow and all the little flavorful elements that you add into the mix. Mostly everything about this is good stuff. Very well done, man.

sorohanro responds:

Thanx, I'm glad that you like it.
There is another mix of this one on Audio Jungle and I'll remake it after I'll get my hands on Pro Tools.
